I took most of the kids out to the camp today. I've been itching to get out there for awhile. but with all the snow we've had, I knew the road probably wouldn't be passable. I wanted to take some things out there, bring some things back, hang up curtains, etc. I figured the road would be fairly passable by now. It was, but the further we went back, the snowier and icier it was. I hadn't even considered the possibility that our driveway wouldn't be clear......until I got there. Definitely not clear. You could tell the road had been plowed, but the driveway hadn't been touched. And why would it have been? We don't go out there in the winter. Anyway, I had to keep driving to the last cottage on the road, and turn around in his plowed driveway. I parked at the end of our driveway, and we had to hoof it from there, carrying all the stuff I had brought. I loaded up the kids for the first trip, but I had to make three more trips myself, to get everything. Trudging in mid-shin deep snow, and knee deep in places, made it interesting.
I hung up one pair of curtains, in the dining area. The other set didn't get hung up, because I had forgotten that there is a set of mini blinds there, instead of curtains, so there is no rod on which to hang curtains. Note to self : pick up a curtain rod.
I brought out the duvet cover for the beachy room, to see how it looks, as well as all the yellow accessories I have. I tore down the cheesy painted shelf that was hanging in the room, and brought it home to give it a makeover.
The kids were getting bored, so I started them tearing off the wallpaper border in the beachy room, shabby chic room, and bathroom. Most of it peeled off surprisingly easy, and I'm proud to say, the shabby chic room and bathroom are now border free! The beachy room, however, needs some more persuasion, and maybe some scoring and fabric softener. See the photo below.
(I also removed the ugly dog picture on the wall.)

I brought the canoe bookcase in, and put some books on it. I think it's cute, but excuse the terribly blurry photo.
I was struck today, by how much work there is to do. I've definitely got my work cut out for me, as do we all. The first renters we have have coming, aren't until the end of July, thank goodness. I brought home some comforters to wash, pillows to recover and a set of mini blinds to turn into roman shades. There's a ton of cleaning to do, cabinet knobs to change out, walls to paint, floors to pick out and lay, furniture to paint, junk to get rid of and the list goes on. It's kind of like a dream come true for me though, and I am really enjoying it. Hopefully we can get a bunch of friends together one or two Saturdays, to get some painting done and floors laid. Once that's done, things should move along quite quickly.0
